Artwork
I’ve FINALLY finished up the final touches on my first personal art gallery. I believe I was always meant to be an artist, but my life has taken a long, winding road through many other places before finally reaching my destination. I started to rekindle my passion for art about the time I turned 30 and have been progressing ever so slowly through the years.
Its amazing to me when I look back at my first experiments into drawing and painting at 30 and then see the slow progression through the years. This includes my beginning Fine Art studies at Hunter college, which started me on the road to painting. To the many sleepless nights trying to work out a painting in my basement. And now reaching ever closer to FINALLY getting my first college degree (in Fine Arts) after only 20 years post-high school.
Its as if my life to this point was a series of ups and downs, swaying any which way the wind blew me. Now, my life has been slowly stabilizing, I’ve matured mentally, I’ve married my match and my love and I’ve cleared away the distractions and simplified my life. So, I feel that I’ve finally reached an equilibrium in my life or as Malcolm Gladwell might say: ‘The Tipping Point’. The next stage is to develop my art and my vision to be more cohesive and focused.
In order to do this, there are two steps I am taking. The first is to share the important works from my past in order to share different stages of my development as an artist. These are presented in my online gallery. Most of the works are available for sale. My goal is to raise enough money to cover the purchase of a professional easel for my office and a portable, french-type easel for outdoors.
If you are interested in supporting my pursuit of art, please look through the gallery, select a piece and contact me to buy it.
